I am drawn to the inane moments, awkward expressions, and uncomfortable interactions that can be captured objectively by a camera. The photographs I use as source material have a surreal quality that I seek to exploit. Drawing from discarded snapshots found at flea markets and garage sales, my paintings are an ambivalent portrayal of middle-class America and suburban banality.
I live and work in San Francisco, California. Since graduating from the Academy of Art University in 2006, I've participated in numerous group shows and open studios, as well as completing a teaching residency at School of the Arts, and an internship at Root Division.
